You are checking this page because…

You can’t shake the feeling loneliness and isolated even if you have non-POC supportive friends and partners.

You’ve worked with White therapists, but you didn’t feel “click” with them.

You wish to have someone who can understand your cultural background while unpacking your childhood family experiences.

Feeling “Not American Enough” or “Not Asian Enough”

Many Asian and Asian American individuals experience unique emotional and mental health challenges — from navigating cultural identity and language barriers to dealing with lack of representation or racial discrimination.

These struggles can sometimes lead to feelings of isolation or not belonging. You might wonder, “Where do I truly fit in?”

In many Asian cultures, mental health isn’t something openly discussed. Expressing your struggles might even be seen as a sign of weakness. You may have been taught to put others’ needs first or to “stay strong” for your family — even when you’re hurting inside.

Collectivism and social expectations can make it difficult to speak up about your emotional pain. This can lead to feelings of shame, guilt, or fear of judgment.

Because of this cultural stigma, many people silently carry their pain alone.

Balancing two cultures — your heritage and your American life — can feel like walking a tightrope. You may feel torn between maintaining your roots and adapting to new cultural expectations.

This ongoing pressure can create emotional confusion, guilt, or a sense of disconnection from both sides.

I provide a compassionate, culturally sensitive space where you can freely talk about your feelings and your Asian American experiences.

As an Asian therapist living in the U.S., I understand the invisible struggles that come with being between two cultures.

Together, we can explore your story, rebuild confidence, and help you find peace in your authentic identity.

I am here for you

My Experience Working with the Asian and Asian American Community

Since 2021, I’ve been supporting Asian and Asian American clients in navigating identity, belonging, and emotional well-being.

My own experiences as an Asian living in the U.S. have helped me deeply understand these unique cultural challenges. I’ve also witnessed recurring patterns — such as perfectionism, intergenerational expectations, and the fear of disappointing others — that can hold individuals back from living fully.

Beyond my professional work, I also express my cultural connection through Taiko (Japanese drumming), which I perform with my husband as part of our team, Genbu Daiko. Taiko is more than a performance art for me — it’s a lifework and a way to honor my roots, connect with my identity, and stay grounded in community and tradition.

I’m passionate about empowering our community through culturally informed therapy and continuous learning. I’m also an active member of an anti-racism book club and facilitate an Anti-Racism Discussion Club for Japanese clinicians.

If you’re ready to begin healing and reconnecting with your authentic self, I’d be honored to support you.
