A Space to Feel at Home — Even Away from Home
Counseling for First-Generation Immigrant
Living in a foreign country as a first-generation immigrant can be both exciting and overwhelming.
Building a new life without much guidance in an unfamiliar environment can bring up frustration, loneliness, and self-doubt. No matter how long you’ve lived in the U.S., you may sometimes feel like you don’t fully belong — neither here nor back home.
Language and cultural barriers can also affect your confidence and make daily life more stressful than it needs to be. Finding your authentic self, while honoring your cultural roots and adapting to a different society, is an ongoing journey — and it’s okay to feel tired along the way.
Living Away from Home
As a first-generation Asian immigrant living in the U.S., I deeply understand what it means to build a life away from your home country. I provide a compassionate and safe space where you can exhale, share your story, and release the pressures you’ve been carrying.
Together, we’ll work toward understanding your experiences, strengthening your sense of self, and finding peace between cultures.
I Am Here for You
My Background as a First Generation Immigrant
I’m originally from Japan and have lived in the U.S. for over 20 years. Through my own journey of living abroad, I’ve experienced the complex emotions that come with adapting to a new culture while staying true to my identity.
Cultural connection is deeply meaningful to me. Taiko drumming (traditional Japanese drumming) is one of the ways I stay grounded in my roots and connect with others. Performing with my husband as part of our Taiko group brings me joy and a strong sense of belonging through music and community.
I offer bilingual therapy services in Japanese and English, creating a space where you can express yourself in the language that feels most natural to you.
